Baramulla, May 24 (KNO): Security forces on Sunday recovered a major cache of explosive ammunition during a joint operation in the Nilsar Kandi area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district. Sources told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that the operation was launched jointly by Baramulla Police, 52 Rashtriya Rifles of the Army and the CRPF following specific intelligence inputs about the presence of terror-related material in the area. They said the joint team carried out a thorough search operation in the forested belt of Nilsar Kandi, during which a suspected terrorist hideout was busted. During the searches, security forces recovered a substantial quantity of ammunition, including Rocket Propelled Grenade (RPG) ammunition and other explosive material. The area was later sanitised and the recovered material was taken into custody for further investigation. Meanwhile, a case has been registered and further investigation has been initiated.—(KNO)
